Marvel Rivals Teases Fantastic Four for Season 1

Marvel Rivals Teases Fantastic Four for Season 1

The beloved Fantastic Four—Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing—are officially heading to Marvel Rivals. While their exact release date remains a mystery, fans can expect more details in a teaser trailer dropping Monday, January 6, ahead of the game's Season 1 launch on January 9.

Interestingly, the teaser also features H.E.R.B.I.E., the Humanoid Experimental Robot from the Fantastic Four universe, hinting at potential support roles or gameplay mechanics tied to the character.

The timing of this announcement appears deliberate, coinciding with the buildup to the next Marvel cinematic adventure, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, set to release on July 25, 2025. Additionally, datamines that surfaced prior to the game's official launch had already hinted at the team’s inclusion, though few expected them to arrive this early.

Despite its significant player base—10 million users in its opening weekend—Marvel Rivals has faced mixed reviews. Eurogamer's Chris gave the game a modest two stars out of five, praising its competitive spirit and inventive team-ups but criticizing its overall lack of fun compared to similar games.

It’s intriguing to see how Marvel and NetEase are leveraging their cinematic universe to tie into gaming releases. The Fantastic Four's inclusion is a clever move to sustain fan interest in both the game and the upcoming movie. While the gameplay has received criticism, the sheer popularity of Marvel Rivalssuggests that the franchise still has room to grow, especially with fan-favorite characters joining the roster.

Stay tuned for more details when the trailer drops next week—this update might just ignite a renewed excitement for Marvel Rivals.
